REPORT

The Inaugural Meeting started with invocation by students. Mr. Franklin, Teacher of Govt. H.S.S. Eranial, welcomed the guests and participants. The Presidential Address was given by Shri. T. Thanuligam, Headmaster, Govt. H.S.S. Eranial. The Introductory Speech was presented by Dr. V. M. Sasikumar, Principal Co-ordinator, Dr. N. P. Pillai CC Committee, and Executive Director, Dr. K. Sivadasan Pillai Foundation. He briefed the gathering about the year-long programmes proposed to be conducted, and the agencies in collaboration. Padmasree K. Viswanathan, Director, Mitraniketan inaugurated the Meeting. He recollected his cherished memories with Dr. Pillai and remembered with reverence the origin of the Centre for Educational Innovation, Research and Development and its functioning in those days. He also added that this Research Centre is affiliated to University of Kerala and the personality behind its establishment was Dr. Pillai.

             The Commemoration Speech was delivered by Dr. B. Krishna Prasad, Principal, NVKSD College of Education, Attoor, Kanyakumari Dist. Dr. Prasad highlighted Dr. N. P. Pillai's contributions in the field of education. The felicitation speeches were presented by Sri. S. Harish Kumar, Media Officer, SRC Kerala (Programme Co-ordinator, Dr. N. P. Pillai CC Committee) and Sri. D. Pramod, Lecturer, S. N. Training College, Poochakkal, Cherthala, Alappuzha. Educational Kits including school uniforms were distributed to the underprivileged students. Sweets were also distributed to all the staff and students of the school to mark the birthday of Dr Pillai and the beginning of the celebrations.  Sri. Jyothinath, Asst. Programme Co-ordinator rendered the Vote of Thanks. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
